Client Requirements

Greater Manchester’s “Healthier Together” programme, which began in 2012, identified Royal Oldham Hospital as one of four specialist hospitals for the delivery of high-risk emergency general surgery across Greater Manchester. A business case was agreed in 2021, and work started later that year. The facility provides brand new accommodation and technology to improve the outcomes of general surgery patients from Oldham and its surrounding areas, as well as releasing space elsewhere in the hospital for refurbishment.

What did we do?

  • Undertook the client-side programme director role, working with contractors, consultants, clinicians, and all other stakeholders to deliver the scheme

  • Management of the operational commissioning and Government Soft Landing (GSL) processes on behalf of the Trust

  • Regular engagement with the Trust’s executive team including reporting to the Trust’s Board of Directors

  • Ensuring programme deadlines were met
